You may have heard the phrase before and you weren’t quite sure what it meant. Basically, the employer is picking the cream of the crop in the pool of job applications they receive. I have heard stories of employers telling the HR dept. that when looking at job applications, discard any application that shows less than a bachelors degree. In higher paying positions they’ll require at least a masters. It can get rough for job seekers in an Employers Market. Chances are you will be forced to take a job much less than you are qualified for. Another problem is that you may be employed, but your employer keeps giving more work to you the employee, than they ever have in years. Many employers are not treating their employees like they once did. They don’t seem to care as much anymore. When is the last time you got a raise? How often do they say “thank you” for a job well done? When is the last time you received a thank you gift, or an “Attaboy”? You Can do something about it!
